Mars clock
Time on Mars by Mars time (MTC)Coordinated Mars Time (MTC) is a proposed name for Mars’s version of UTC: the average solar time at the prime meridian, through the crater Airy-0, which NASA’s Mars24 calls Airy Mean Time.More in the glossary, plus the local time and day at Perseverance’s and Curiosity’s craters.

The distance between Earth and Mars right now, in km and miles, with the Signal delaySignal delay is how long a radio message takes to travel between Earth and Mars at the speed of light: from about 3 to 22 minutes each way, depending on where the planets are.More in the glossary and how much it changes each day.

A countdown to the next launch to Mars, only when the launch time is exact. Otherwise it shows the date as precisely as it’s known, and it moves on by itself after each launch.

Questions
How do I add a Mars clock to my website?
Copy the embed code above and paste it into your page’s HTML where you want the clock. Pick a size first: 300 × 250, 728 × 90, or responsive to fill its container.
Are the widgets free?
Yes. Use them on any site, personal, school or commercial. Just keep the credit link.
How accurate are they?
The same as our own pages. Mars time follows NASA’s Mars24 method and the distance comes from JPL’s orbital elements, worked out in the reader’s browser.
Will the countdown always show a time?
No, only when a launch time is exact. When the next launch is known only to the month or year, the widget shows that instead, and it moves on to the next launch by itself.
Do the widgets track my readers?
No. They set no cookies, run no analytics and store nothing. The only requests go to marsprogress.com, for the widget, its script and its fonts.
